Today’s bag of the day: vintage & modern with my friend and blogger E For Elisa.
Hers: Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Grenelle bag from the 1990s
Mine: Proenza Schouler PS11 Tiny in Linosa Leather
Elisa got this incredible crossbody bag in Italy in the 1990s while she was studying fashion design for about $1300, which is about the equivalent to $2400 today. Elisa’s vintage bag still looks nearly new and it’s still in style.
That’s why we invest our money in designer handbags, right? As much as we buy and sell bags, they are lifelong investments.
I posted all about my admiration of Louis Vuitton Epi Leather a few weeks ago and how the durable leather was created.
It’s easy to see the similarities in Louis Vuitton’s Epi Leather and Proenza Schouler’s Linosa Leather; both textured, durable leathers. Linosa leather is calfskin with a subtle crosshatch texture; Epi leather has a grain-like texture. They are similar in feel/texture and are both really durable.
If you’re looking for more Epi leather, I put together an Epi leather collection on ShopStyle.
