Givenchy Mini Antigona

New in: Givenchy Mini Antigona Bag

The Mini Antigona is a trapezoid-shaped handbag with a triangular Givenchy patch, oversized zipper closures, and silver metal details. On my bag, a limited edition style, there’s a small metal bar detail that adds just a little bit of extra edge.

Gimme a pen, it’s time to check off a box on my handbag wishlist!

Bag Review: Givenchy Calfskin Mini Antigona

What I love

The LEATHERRRR. This leather is thick and beautiful. It feels luxurious.

The shape. The trapezoid shape is unique but very classic.

The size. clocking in at 8.75 inches length, 7.75 inches in height and 5.25 inches deep, it’s just the right size for a light day or evening out.

How it opens. It’s got a single zip- closure with leather pull so it’s easy to get into and easily secured with a zip. Plus, the zipper is huge so I don’t have to fumble around for it.

The sturdy top handles.

The interior has a nice oven textile fabric with one zip pocket and two open pockets.

What I don’t like

The long strap comes off if it hits the wrong angle. I don’t know how to explain when or why, but sometimes it slides off.

The zipper is very big, which is both awesome but can be obtrusive.

Size comparison: Givenchy Mini Antigona vs. Louis Vuitton Alma BB

The Givenchy Mini Antigona is slightly larger than the Louis Vuitton Alma BB. Though the Mini Antigona doesn’t open all the way around like the Alma, it’s a little taller with wider sides.

How does the Givenchy Mini Antigona wear?

My Mini Antigona bag is made of grained calfskin leather, which is prone to scratching and fading. Many Givenchy Mini Antigona bags are made of pebbled “Sugar” Goatskin leather, which is more durable. Some are made of smooth, shiny Box calfskin leather that is especially prone to scratches.  Overall, I would recommend the Mini Antigona in Sugar leather.

Fun fact: The Givenchy Antigona bag was originally released in 2011, designed by then-creative director Riccardo Tisci.

The name Antigona is from the Greek mythology figure Antigone. The name translates to “unbending,” giving it an aura of strength, defiance, and authority. In Greek mythology, Antigone is known for her female strength and defiance of male dominance, which aligns with the bag’s structured, edgy, and masculine-meets-feminine design.
