Year In Search 2018: Most Searched Fashion Terms from Google Trends

Shoutout to luxury reseller Fashionphile for breaking the top 10 most searched fashion brands of 2018!

Most Searched Fashion Brands

  1. Fashion Nova
  2. Louis Vuitton
  3. Versace
  4. Givenchy
  5. Gucci
  6. Alexander McQueen
  7. Dolce & Gabbana
  8. Fashionphile
  9. Dior
  10. Moschino

Unsurprisingly, the list of most search fashion brands is mostly full of global luxury brands, but there are two fashion brands on Google’s list that stand out: Fashion Nova and Fashionphile.

Fashion Nova is most well known as a fast fashion retailer with inexpensive, trendy clothes and teaming up with influencers. Rapper Cardi B recently teamed up with the viral brand Fashion Nova to launch her first clothing collection.

Fashionphile is a brand that’s very familiar to me and to those who shop for pre-owned luxury, but perhaps not for the rest of the internet. Fashionphile sells used authentic designer handbags and accessories online and in four retail locations (3 in California, 1 in NY).

To me, Fashionphile’s appearance in the top 10 most searched fashion brands shows the prevalence of buying pre-owned luxury goods. Many resellers like TheRealReal and Yoogi’s Closet claim they sell products upwards to 80% off retail prices.   The younger generations want to buy luxury goods but can’t afford the general market prices and instead opt for buying secondhand.

  7. Harajuku fashion
  8. Hipster style
